Coast Guard Community Foundation Art Show

Opening Reception | April 8 from 3-5pm

Browse the works of local artists on display in the terrace area of the award winning Mad Batter Restaurant. The exhibit is part of the Mad Batter family’s ongoing support of the artist community. Proceeds from the sale of art will benefit the Cape May County Coast Guard Community Foundation.

Southern New Jersey United States Coast Guard Ball

Cape May Convention Hall | 714 Beach Ave. | Cape May, NJ

This gala event draws Coast Guard personnel and their families from throughout the region. The black-tie celebration transitions from sophisticated and formal to all-out-dancing fun over the course of the evening. As part of a special partnership, members of the community are invited to join the festivities.  A limited number of tickets are available.

Coast Guard Community Festival

Training Center Cape May  | 1 Munro Ave. | Cape May, NJ

Festival goers will explore the extensive TRACEN base on foot and by trolley, get an inside look at US Coast Guard vessels and view a Coast Guard helicopter up close. The Coast Guard Recruit Band and drill team will give engaging performances and US Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City will conduct thrilling search and rescue demonstrations. There will be tours of Cape May Harbor, children’s activities, interactive displays, vendors, food, beer, live music and cultural and historical exhibits. FREE

Enlisted Memorial Groundbreaking

TRACEN | 1 Munro Ave. | Cape May, NJ

The Coast Guard Enlisted Memorial will be built on the grounds of TRACEN, the current birthplace of the US Coast Guard’s enlisted corps. The memorial will include the names of over 1,500 Coast Guard men and women who perished in the performance of Coast Guard missions over the past 103 years. Open to the public.

The festival continues at the Cape May – Lewes Ferry Terminal where Sunday brunch is served. Other activities include a joint concert by the US Coast Guard Recruit Band and Lower Cape May Regional School Bands, awards ceremony honoring Coast Guard Spouse and Coast Guardsmen a of the Year and a classic car show.

MAC invites all Cape May County residents and Coast Guard personnel to visit the historic sites or take a trolley ride for FREE. Attractions include the Physick Estate, Cape May Lighthouse and the World War II Lookout Tower. Just show your proof of residence or military ID. FREE

 Paul W. Schmidtchen Theatre

This is your opportunity to hear the United States Coast Guard Band, one of the five premier service bands in the United States, at a free public concert. The 55-member band performs patriotic selections, classical works and jazz standards. Tickets are required but are FREE.

Sunset Parades

Training Center Camp May

Sunset parades are colorful, inspiring military ceremonies featuring the Recruit Precision Drill Team, marching troops, and cannon fire. They take place at sunset on the Training Center’s Parade Grounds, are open to the general public, and there is no admission charge. Children are welcome to attend, but should be accompanied by an adult.
